The
Adams Report
by
J.C. Adams
January 2002
Although
you horndogs will be reading this column in January, the buzz
around Boys Town right now is all about directrix Chi Chi LaRues
birthday bash on November 18. This years venue was the ever-so-trendy
Hollywood Athletic Club on Sunset Boulevard. The party
was complete with go-go boys, three gigantic rooms to mingle in,
three bars (!) and a silent auction. For the first time ever,
Ms. LaRue (together with Channel 1 Releasing) instituted
a cover charge, then donated the proceeds--roughly $10,000 raised
from 1,000 attendees--to Aid for AIDS.
I had the most fun doing the show! Ms. LaRue said
a few days later. The highlight of her bash was a drag turnabout
featuring your favorite porn studs in high heels, fishnets, towering
wigs and lots of pancake makeup. For years Ive been
wanting to poke fun at drag, and at the masculinity of porn,
she told me. LaRue wont be putting on a drag show next year
(I got it out of my system!), but does promise her
party will be on a weekend night. This years event was on
a Sunday evening, forcing the partys nine-to-fivers (including
yours truly) to bow out early.
In any case, the historic building overflowed with sexy boys,
hot chicks (director Blue Blake brought one of the top
female strippers in the U.K.) and plenty of celebs. The ones Im
allowed to mention include novelist Christopher Rice (cute,
shy and very tall), MTVs The Real World: Miamis
hunkalicious housemate Dan Renzi (nice enough, although
he kept to himself and his pals) and Hollywood Squares
comedian Bruce Vilanch (surrounded, as usual, by a passel
of gorgeous cuties).
Once I made my way upstairs to the VIP room I ran into a trim
and handsome Zak Spears, who quickly introduced me to his
new boyfriend: none other than Falcons newest star
Matthew Rush. Like most porn models, Rush is polite, quiet
and very shy. The nights funniest moment occurred when a
callow youth introduced himself to Spears, exclaiming, My
dad used to jack off to you! The look of dismay on poor
Zaks face was priceless.
Later, I chatted with Bo Garrett (I asked trouble-prone
Bo where hes been lately, and he bluntly replied Unavailable!),
Kurt Young (beautiful as ever), director Wash West,
who was celebrating the release of The Fluffer (now making
the art- house circuit), and gossip columnist Billy Masters.
At one point Billy disappeared into the ladies room and
engaged in who-knows-what kind of naughtiness with models Jack
Ryan and Matt Sizemore, towering drag empress Jazmine
and hunky Detour writer Rob Ellsworth.
It was the best birthday party Chi Chi has ever thrown,
Mr. Masters told me. The drag show ran smoothly and on schedule,
which is virtually unheard-of for something like this. And she
didnt hog the spotlight. The guys turned out some of the
most polished drag numbers Ive ever seen. Jackson Price
and Blake Harper were both as good as anything youd
see at an actual drag show. And then disco diva Pepper MaShay
showed up to sing live! It was a great night in Hollywood!
One final bit of leftover business from 2001: I neglected to note
director Paul Barresi in my recent Year in Porn
column, and he did deserve a mention. Mr. Barresi churned out
a pile of enjoyable videos for Regiment Productions, all
of em starring Creole cutie Stonie. Among his better
flicks for other studios this year, The Coach (Pacific
Sun) paired sex bomb Caesar with Chris Steele
and When Sparks Fly (Studio 2000) starred tight,
fuckable Drew Larson alongside lanky hottie Troy Michaels.
(Barresi also has a cameo in last summers sci-fi flick
John Carpenters Ghosts of Mars.)
I recently managed to nab prolific director Drew Warner
for a quick lunch, and he dropped a bombshell: Im
performing in front of the camera for the first time with a new
guy named Kyle Richards. The video is titled Open
Trench: Vol. 2, and ought to be released in May in conjunction
with IML weekend. I figured most directors start
as models, Mr. Warner said, so I decided to go in
the other direction and jump in to have some fun! Judging
from the goofy grin on his face as he told me, Im sure he
had a blast
